Grants
Funding opportunities at a glance
The AZ Blue Foundation is adapting to meet Arizona’s most urgent needs.
In light of ongoing uncertainty around federal funding, grant availability, and essential services, we’re taking a more targeted approach to how we distribute support in 2025.
Guided by conversations with fellow funders, nonprofit partners, and educational institutions, we are shifting to an invitation-only grant process to focus on the most critical needs facing our communities right now.
As a result, we are adjusting the timing of our second grant cycle to later this year.
We will continue to work with the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) to manage grant applications and administration. All Arizona-based nonprofits, academic institutions, and recognized government entities applying for AZ Blue Foundation funding must have an active account with ACF.

Grants Request Process
The AZ Blue Foundation accepts funding requests during specific grant cycles from non-profit organizations and academic institutions.
We work with the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) to manage grant interest, applications, and proposals. All organizations seeking Foundation funding must have an active grantee account with ACF. The application process varies by funding type as detailed here.
The Thiru Family Trust Momentum Maker grant was created to inspire new paths to mental health and well-being in Arizona.
Each year, we will identify a specific area of mental health-related need—then award one grant package to help meet the need. For 2025, the grant is valued at $100,000.
Applications accepted from Feb. 27, 2025, through 4 p.m. MST on Mar. 27, 2025. Get all the details.
The AZ Blue Foundation will also offer invitation-only grant funding to Arizona-based organizations during 2025. Those invited will be provided with a link to the application.
Funding will target:
- Healthcare access and affordability, including addressing the healthcare provider shortage
- Addressing health-related gaps
- Emerging and urgent mental health and substance use disorder prevention
- Social drivers of health
AZ Blue Foundation staff will communicate directly with organizations that qualify for these funding opportunities.
The AZ Blue Foundation provides funding each year for a select number of charitable events that align with our health focus areas. The portal is open, and applications can be submitted through the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) website. Questions? Contact [email protected].
A select number of corporate memberships are funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona each year.
